If you’re only going on roads, then a road bike will be better, the gears will be more suitable to smooth surfaces, and the tyres will make it much faster.
If you’re going to do some off road, then this bike will be adequate. If you only do light trails, then you could change the tyres for some multi – terrain type, which will be better on the road than the full off road tyres fitted as standard.
Carrera bikes are mid range, and I wouldn’t normally recommend them, but I believe Halfords have some good offers on now, especially if you buy from the web site. It’s a case of you get what you pay for, and you could do much worse than you’ll get with this bike.
As for the size, go along to your local Halfords, and try them out, then if you decide to go for one, get it from the web site, they’re not particularly good for after sales service, so you won’t get much benefit by buying from one of their stores.
